WordPress Security Update in 4.2.4

WordPress 4.2.4 Update

I hope everyone is enjoying their week. This is just a gentle reminder that WordPress has been updated to version 4.2.4. This is a security and maintenance release and it’s strongly encouraged that you update all of your WordPress sites. This release covers three cross-scripting vulnerabilities and a potential SQL injection that could compromise your site.

If you want to read more about the release and what they found, you can check it out here. Before you update your site, please make sure you take a full backup of your files and your database. This is *EXTREMELY* Important. You need to have a backup before going through any update.

Yes, WordPress makes it very easy to just click the update button and be done with it, but this is not recommended. If you don’t have a backup of your site, then use a free plugin like UpdraftPlus.

If you’re not sure how to do this, then please contact us. We specialize in backups and updates for our customers. We can have you backed up and updated quickly and efficiently.

If you want to turn off WordPress’ automatic updates, then check out this post.
